Our story.

It all began with a panoramic little house by Lake Balaton. Today, we create welcoming spaces and experiences where arriving truly feels good.

It all began with a panoramic little house by Lake Balaton.

Our shared dream came true in 2020, when we found a truly special place in the Balaton Uplands: a timber-beamed home surrounded by quiet, complete with a wine cellar.

Originally, we imagined it only for ourselves. A place where we could retreat from the Great Hungarian Plain, slow down and recharge. Then, in October 2021, Bor Mámor Ederics Guesthouse was born. What had once been only ours opened its doors to others — so we could pass on that same experience.

The story did not stop there. What started as a retreat gradually became a way of life.

Lake Balaton eventually became our home. Year after year, we grew: first with two apartments, then with more, and today we welcome our guests in several directly waterfront apartments on the southern shore.

We do not only create spaces, but experiences and connections as well — with returning guests who choose us again and again. For us, this is one of the most beautiful forms of recognition.

We love creating, planning, developing ideas and improving continuously. Our aim is to shape spaces where guests can feel from the very first moment that they have arrived somewhere truly good.

Where it all began

Bor Mámor Ederics Guesthouse

The story of Balaton Essence began in the Balaton Uplands, with a panoramic little house. This place later became Bor Mámor Ederics Guesthouse — the first space where we showed what Balaton hospitality means to us.

The guesthouse is currently under renovation, so that soon it can welcome guests in an even more beautiful, comfortable and carefully considered form.

Although it is not bookable at the moment, it remains an important part of our story, which is why it has a special place in the world of Balaton Essence.

Behind Balaton Essence there is a personal story, a lot of work and continuous presence. Our goal is simple: to make our guests’ time by Lake Balaton easy, comfortable and memorable.

We believe that a good stay is not only about the walls, the furniture or the view, but also about the feeling guests take with them from the moment they arrive.
